Animal Food Manufacturing & Safety Working Group
The Animal Food Manufacturing and Safety Working Group was assembled in 2016 in an effort to expand and improve education on feed mill operations, animal feed composition, feed mill safety, manufacturing techniques and more. Group members are interested in addressing these areas within both higher education and extension/outreach education environments.
Charles Starkey is an assistant professor in the Department of Poultry Science. His research interests include animal feed manufacturing techniques and quality of feed, feed mill safety and efficiency, and feed mill employee education and training.
Wilmer Pacheco is as assistant professor an extension specialist in the Department of Poultry Science. His specialty areas include feed mill operations, quality control of ingredients and feeds, poultry management and poultry nutrition.
