The AUFSI Obesity Working Group was invited to present at the quarterly meeting of the Alabama Obesity Task Force on Feb. 9 in Montgomery. Along with providing background on the working group – how and why the members coalesced – the presentation also gave details about past OWG projects and current focus areas. These areas include prenatal interventions; use of mobile technology for nutrition education; and targeting obesity within specific populations, such as working adults, college students and school-age children. The OWG is one of AUFSI’s most active working groups, meeting regularly, collaborating on a variety of projects, and keeping its website up-to-date. Visit aufsi.auburn.edu/obesity to learn more.
